The museum holds over thirteen million objects which were purchased, donated, or excavated. Together they represent almost two million years of history. Some of the most famous objects include the Rosetta Stone, the Parthenon Sculpture of Acropolis and the Elgin Marbles. Besides all the objects permanently on display, the museum offers exhibitions and events throughout the year.
