What to expect

Turin is the fourth Italian city in terms of population and it is considered one of the major business, cultural, scientific and touristic hubs of the country. The city hosts the world famous Holy Shroud, one of the most intense symbols of Christianity, and here several princes and kings conceived the present Italy. Turin is also home to FIAT, the first Italian car manufacturer, and to Pininfarina, the well-known car design firm. With its beautiful parks and noble palaces, Turin is also known for its culinary excellence and is the renowned Italian Capital of Chocolate.

The tour will start from the Castle Square and the baroque Royal Palace (UNESCO), the historical and political heart of the city.

After admiring the main Cathedral hosting the Holy Shroud (when publicly shown) or the Royal Church of S. Lorenzo (with a copy of the Shroud), the tour includes a visit to Palazzo Madama (UNESCO) that houses the Museum of Ancient Art (skip the line) and the medieval tower from which you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the city (the ticket is valid all day for visiting the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions on your own as well).

Along the walking tour you’ll also admire the ancient archeological sites dating back to the roman period, the magnificent Palazzo Carignano (UNESCO) that hosted the first Italian parliament and the countless elegant historical cafes where you will taste a typical hot chocolate/coffee drink.

The tour will end close to the majestic Mole Antonelliana, true symbol of Turin, housing the National Museum of Cinema, the tallest museum in the world.
