The Bertani winery was established in 1857 by two brothers, Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani, in Quinto di Valpantena, north of Verona. With their irreproachable professionalism and quality, commercial entrepreneurism and innovative spirit, the two brothers quickly stood out in the Veronese landscape. Bertani was one of the first companies in Italy to understand the value of bottled wine; major investments were made in the vineyards and in the cellar to bottle and export the Italian quality of Bertani wines, which before the end of the 19th century had already crossed the Atlantic Ocean and reached several American cities. In the mid-20th century, with the acquisition of Tenuta Novare in Valpolicella Classica, Bertani finally concluded its half-century long search for 'the' wine - the one that would last forever. In fact, it is here that begins the story of Amarone, a wine that symbolizes the soil from which it came, first produced in 1958.
Amarone Classico Bertani Tastings are intended to promote the company's historical wines, those that have earned it its worldwide reputation and which have been served at epoch-making events such as the coronation of King George VI of England in 1937. Thanks to its historical archives Bertani has reimplemented ancient wine-making methods, which are now reflected in its Vintage collection. This is an exclusive tasting, aimed at discovering the company's most famous wines. Thanks to its historical reserves, Bertani is the only company in the region that boasts such wealth.
