Widely considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture, the cathedral was built in stages from the reign of Louis VII until its completion in the mid-1240s. Marvel at magnificent features, such as the glorious rose window in the north transept and the high altar with its kneeling statues of Louis XIII and Louis XIV.
